Nov 03, 2016·I typically stick to cold process soap but I've been intrigued by the latest craze of fluid hot process soap (Fluid HP). I've been getting email after email asking questions, so I thought I'd give it a try and put together a tutorial on the process.
Place Oil Phase ingredients (i.e. oils, butters, oils, emulsifying wax into a 750ml - 1 litre Pyrex or heat proof measuring jug. Heat in microwave for approximately 2 minutes in bursts or until all the contents are melted and are 70 - 75°C. For smaller watt microwaves you may need to adjust time to melt sufficiently.
Make sure you have everything ready at your work station - your mold, oils, lye solution, and fragrance and/or other additives. Plug in your stick blender and make sure you have your safety equipment on (put it back on, you know you took it off when you were waiting for things to cool down).

The reason I chose to make it in the blender was you don't have to be as accurate on the temperature of the lye or oils, the time to trace is MUCH quicker, separating is greatly reduced and smaller batches are made. Most recipes only make a 1 pound batch at a time.
How to best use a stick blender? Some people, especially beginners, use their stick blender with a heavy hand. This can create more problems than it solves. My motto -- Stick blend less and hand stir more! When making a typical batch of soap, I stick blend the batter in 3 or 4 bursts that are 2-3 seconds per burst.
Instructions. Fill up about a cup of warm water in a bowl and place a few drops of dish soap in. Submerge the blades in the water. Start the blender and do a few pulses until the blades look clean. Unplug the blender and wipe down the bender with a rag. Dry and put away.

I grind a cinnamon stick into a powder for putting on my breakfast, that way I get it just fresh !.
